Introduction
A test of a car configured according to a proven and for many years the most popular scheme, which is still preferred by many fleets: a spacious estate with a large boot, with an economical, powerful and proven 2.0 TDI diesel engine with 150 HP, with front-wheel drive, with an automatic gearbox (DSG), without electrification. Of course, this is the Octavia after a recent facelift.
Body
- Pleasantly compact from the outside (4.7 m long).
Boot
- Cavernous, well-arranged, you can transport everything you want in it.
Interior
- Very spacious.
- The back seat can accommodate three adults.
- Great front seats with massage function, with solid fabric upholstery, well supporting the body.
- With useful amenities, such as small waste containers, USB-C ports (also by the interior mirror), cup holders.
- Precise assembly and fitting of materials.
Control of functions
- The multimedia system with a 13-inch screen leaves no reason to complain.
Driving
- Driving assistance systems are impeccable. For example, keeping the car in the lane works smoothly and precisely.
- The suspension filters the road very well.
- The overall travel comfort is very high.
- At 130 km/h, 70 dB recorded inside, which is currently a slightly increased result compared to the average (68-69 dB). The diesel engine makes itself more present during more dynamic/faster driving - at higher revs. Usually, however, the gearbox keeps them at a low level and this is enough for efficient driving.

Summary
In the Autobild test, the Octavia received 27 out of 35 possible points, which is a very good result. Skoda's former advertising slogan "Knows what's good" is still relevant. The Skoda Octavia has already gained such a strong place on the market that few brands try to compete with it. Most do not introduce models equivalent to the Octavia to the market at all. This is often explained by the fact that this segment is supposedly no longer popular. This is not true. Many customers appreciate this car concept and the sales statistics for the Octavia or Corolla estate versions prove it. Less competition allows Skoda to have higher margins. Not only the base prices have increased, but also many useful solutions have to be heavily paid for. This know particularly customers who buy a car for cash.
